Sindh Health Secretary Mansoor Abbas Rizvi has been accused of insubordination by Caretaker Health Minister Dr Saad Khalid Niaz in a letter to the provincial chief secretary which details the alleged frivolous behaviour the minister has experienced at the hands of the secretary.

Dr Niaz highlighted that Rizvi’s attitude is impeding the achievement of goals he had set after taking office. Dr Niaz explained that an advertisement for the recruitment of 16 administrative-level contracts was published on July 29, 2023.

A committee was formed on Sept 5, 2023, approved by the chief minister and initially led by the additional secretary. However, on Dec 12, 2023, a new committee was formed without Dr Niaz’s permission, raising concerns about the transparency and fairness of the recruitment process.
