This question often comes as people seek the best environment to maintain their yoga routine without compromising their comfort and health.
In today’s fast-paced world, most of us are trying to keep ourselves fit. Be it yoga or gym sessions, people have started to take fitness seriously. But with the sharp rise in mercury and brutal heatwave, fitness, at times, takes a back seat. Relatable? Are you someone who thinks it’s hard to work out without ac? Well, you are not alone. But is it advisable to perform a workout with the AC on?
Well, a Yoga and nutrition educator Shikha Mehra has offered some valuable insights to help with this common concern. She advises on how to practice yoga safely and comfortably during the hottest months of the year.
In a recent Instagram post, she says, “Practice space should neither be too hot nor too cold. Extreme temperatures can distract you and affect your body adversely. ”
“So in the scorching summer heat, moving in an air-conditioned room is far better than suffering in the heat,” she adds.

Practising yoga in an air-conditioned room during summer will help you maintain your routine comfortably. The cooler environment will allow you to focus better and move through your poses without being overwhelmed by the heat and sweat.
Apart from this, Shikha has also shared the best time to practice Yoga throughout the year in a previous post.
She explains that one should practice Yoga during the cool and calm periods of the day, particularly early in the morning (before or around sunrise) and late in the evening (around sunset). “These times are considered optimal because the environment is generally quieter, and the body’s natural rhythms are more conducive to practice,” she explains.
