Two more cases of monkeypox reported from Punjab – SUCH TV

Monkeypox continued to spread its tentacles in Faisalabad as two more suspected cases of the disease were reported on Wednesday.

According to details, two new patients were admitted to the isolation ward of Allied Hospital in Faisalabad.

Doctors said that samples of both patients had been sent to a laboratory and their results were awaited.

Two people have so far tested positive for the disease during the current year.

On Tuesday, two new cases of monkeypox were confirmed at Lahore’s Mayo Hospital.

According to the hospital officials, a 28-year-old man identified as Sajid and a 35-year-old woman named Rubina tested positive for monkeypox.

The threat of monkeypox has become more serious as the number of patients continues to rise in Lahore, raising concerns over preparedness and preventive measures.

With these latest cases, the total number of monkeypox patients reported in Lahore has reached 16 over the past two months.

Health experts warn that the steady increase in cases highlights gaps in disease control measures.

Despite the growing number of patients, no concrete steps have yet been taken to effectively prevent the spread of the virus.

Sources revealed that the health department has failed to establish proper quarantine wards for monkeypox patients at government hospitals.

The absence of dedicated isolation facilities has added to public concern about the risk of further transmission.

The rising cases and lack of adequate quarantine arrangements have prompted calls for immediate action from health authorities to strengthen surveillance, isolation, and treatment facilities before the situation worsens.
