NEPRA hikes electricity prices by Rs. 2.56 per unit – SUCH TV

Posted on August 8, 2024 By Admin No Comments on NEPRA hikes electricity prices by Rs. 2.56 per unit – SUCH TV

Electricity prices across Pakistan have been increased by Rs2.56 per unit for the month of June.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) issued the decision in response to a fuel adjustment request, raising electricity prices.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had initially requested an increase of Rs2.63 per unit, but NEPRA approved a slightly lower hike of Rs2.56 per unit.

The price increase applies solely to June’s fuel price adjustment. Lifeline consumers and K-Electric users are exempt from this hike.

The additional charges will be reflected in consumers’ electricity bills for August.

This development comes amid ongoing economic challenges, where rising fuel prices have significantly impacted the cost of electricity production.
