After amassing global and local recognition for nail-biting fighting sequences, The Legend of Maula Jatt has embarked on another exciting journey, this time delving into the action-packed world of video games. Partnering with the fan-favourite battle royal shooter game, PUBG MOBILE, the Bilal Lashari film is expanding its fantastical universe.
While the exchange between gaming and film is common in Hollywood, Assassin’s Creed, Lara Croft and Jumanji being a few notable examples, Maula Jatt’s creative union with PUBG marks a new chapter in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. The announcement of the well-received development was made by Lashari himself who took to Instagram to inaugurate character voice packs and outfits inspired by his film.
“The PUBG MOBILE x The Legend of Maula Jatt Collaboration is live, you can now play and use the Maula Jatt outfit, Maula Jatt voice pack and Noori Natt’s voice pack. Are you ready for the epic showdown?” read Lashari’s caption. After bagging a nomination in September at the Taurus World Stunt Awards, the 2022 blockbuster starring Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi has taken a direction that perfectly compliments its overarching profile.
The Taurus World Stunt Awards are a yearly celebration of the achievements of stunt performers from film industries across the world. Since their debut in 2001, the deciding committee for the ceremonious awards have been known to hold the highest standards in terms of recognition. With stunts seamlessly coordinated by stunt master Ian Van Temperley himself, The Legend of Maula Jatt competed with Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Gray Man, amongst others.
