Israel-Gaza live updates: Blinken in Israel to urge humanitarian pause; Israel expels Gazan workers

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived Friday in Israel, where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of his war cabinet, and is expected to push Israel to implement “humanitarian pauses” in Gaza to facilitate aid getting in and foreign citizens getting out. Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah will deliver a speech Friday, his first since the war in Gaza, as an escalation in fighting between the militant group and Israel at the Lebanese border raises fears of a wider conflict. In Israel, authorities expelled thousands of Palestinians from Gaza who had been in Israel for work at the beginning of the war, sending them back to the heavily bombarded enclave.
