Officials in Israel and Gaza said Thursday that Israeli military operations were ongoing around the besieged al-Shifa hospital. Israeli soldiers — seeking signs of a Hamas presence — “go in and out of the complex,” Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said. Staff could not provide care to many of the wounded and were out of food and water, he said. Thousands of medical staffers, patients, their family members and displaced Gazans have taken shelter in the hospital.
