A 2022 survey conducted by the dating platform Bumble revealed that 61% of Indian respondents were open to exploring polygamous relationships. While some single individuals engage in this lifestyle, married individuals also practice forms of polyamory, maintaining multiple relationships outside their primary marriage.

One of the defining characteristics of solo polyamorous individuals is their staunch independence. They do not rely on their partners for emotional or financial support and prefer to make decisions autonomously.
