Indian actor secures 79% of Instagram votes and 64% on YouTube, beating Rohit Shetty, Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh
Salman Khan has topped a Variety India poll asking viewers to choose their favourite reality show host, securing a commanding lead over several of Indian television’s biggest names.
The publication recently asked its followers to vote for their preferred reality host, with Khan emerging as the clear favourite across both Instagram and YouTube.
On Instagram, Khan received 79% of the votes, putting him well ahead of Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 host Rohit Shetty, who finished second with 19%.
The remaining contenders received only a small share of the vote. Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa hosts Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh secured 2%, while The Traitors Season 2 host Karan Johar received 1%.
The results were somewhat closer on YouTube, although Khan still maintained a substantial lead with 64%. Shetty again came second with 19%, while Johar received 10%. Farah and Deshmukh jointly accounted for the remaining 8%.
The poll comes as Khan continues to occupy a prominent place on Indian television and in Bollywood.
He is currently hosting Bigg Boss Season 20, the latest edition of the reality franchise he has fronted since its fourth season in 2010.
On the film front, Khan recently starred in the war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. The film was released in cinemas on August 14, 2026, after being retitled from its earlier name, Battle of Galwan.
Earlier this year, Khan also headlined the action drama Sikandar, opposite Rashmika Mandanna.
Having hosted Bigg Boss for more than 15 years, Khan remains closely associated with the franchise. The show’s weekend Weekend Ka Vaar episodes, in particular, continue to draw significant attention, reinforcing his enduring presence in Indian reality television.
